how can a judge tell the military not to protect the US

LOS ANGELES —  A federal judge has banned the Navy from using high-power sonar during exercises off the Southern California coast, ruling that the strong underwater sounds can cause widespread damage to whales and other marine mammals.

What is this judge thinking a whale or a fish is more important then our navy keeping an eye on subs that are lurking off our shores.  Next he's going to tell the air force it cant fly training missions because they may hit a baby bird.

We do not need to have enemies in the world our own judicial system is hamstringing our military.  I can understand there are times when the judicIal must look at the military but not telling them how to train or where or when to train.
